Workshop: The tail your loneliness tells

Sometimes 100 people can surround us, and we can still feel lonely.
And sometimes we are alone and live our best life...
What makes the difference?
Why are you feeling lonely?
What to do when you feel lonely?
Why don't we like this feeling?
Why are we running away from being lonely?
Can we cure loneliness?

Most probably, there's no one in this world who does not feel lonely, and still, when we do, we feel that we are the only ones suffering. Loneliness is part of life, but it hurts a lot. Loneliness is scary and can alienate us from our dreams, goals, and, sometimes, ourselves.
So... what's there to do about it?

Workshop

This workshop is an invitation to introspection and self-awareness in order for you to make friends with loneliness. Does it sound difficult? Or absurd? Come and try it!
This evening, through games, introspection and conversations, you will not only look this feeling right in its eyes but also learn to listen and understand it.
Really, taking care of your emotions does not need to be a burden or complicated!

Wellbeing activities for young adults with Laura Curta
During the Week against Loneliness, the LocHal Library offers accessible activities for young (international) adults to create awareness for mental health and give tools to deal with feelings of loneliness. During two workshops led by life coach Laura Curta, you learn how to understand and better handle loneliness, and how to socialize and connect with new friends easily.

About Laura Curta
Laura Curta is a certified life coach and personal development workshop facilitator. She is also a second-year psychology student with a mission: to make personal development and mental health accessible, fun and easy to understand. This started when she was unemployed after moving to the Netherlands and felt quite lost when it came to the direction of her life. Back then, she understood that if she weren't taking care of her mental health, no job offer and no fabulous place to live would make her truly satisfied with her life. So now, over four years of experience and many courses, therapy sessions, books and hours of practice later, she is now sharing what she learned and helping others in their own self-discovery and healing journey.

When she is not leading workshops, listening to others' stories or studying, she loves doing fairly basic things: reading (maybe too much!), going to the gym, enjoying how fluffy her dog is and trying not to worry too much about even the smallest things (which she definitely does too much!) :)

NOTE: this activity will be in English. There is a second activity on Tuesday October 3rd, which will be a speed friending evening. Both activities can be participated in separately.
